Endless Forms

Endless_forms_title

There are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on every beach on this planet. The human circulatory system contains about sixty thousand miles of blood vessels. There are over seven billion people alive on earth today, and each of us is formed from the by-products of exploded stars.

The true scale, complexity and magnificence of the world around us is almost unimaginable. These photographs represent just a small fraction of the wonders that surround us, from clusters of galaxies spread across millions of light‑years, to the microscopic structures that are vital for life to exist. Often unseen to the naked eye, these marvels are revealed through the use of photography.

The seemingly endless complexity of nature, and the shapes formed by its processes;

These are the endless forms.

This project was inspired by the following quotes, the latter also provided me with the title for my project.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”

Douglas Adams

The restaurant at the end of the universe

There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.”
